I just love weddings. They mark the beginning of a new life together. A beginning full of hopes and dreams for a bright future. I remember my wedding, it was just a few friends and family in a small little church and we had a very small reception dinner afterwards, we didn’t even get a honeymoon because he couldn’t get time off from work. He had just started a new job and there was no way he could leave at that time. But we are planning to have a renewal ceremony and we’re taking that honeymoon we always wanted to take.

I went to a wedding last weekend, not a small one like ours, but a very big elaborate wedding ceremony and reception. I couldn’t get over all the fantastic decorations she had in the church as well as the reception hall. Everything was beautifully done. All the colors coordinated and the bridesmaids dresses complimented that of the brides. There were lovely flowers everywhere, red and white roses, bushels of them around the altar. Her flower girl and ring boy were so adorable as they walked down the aisle, each doing their part to make this ceremony happen.

She had everything perfectly planned from the wedding party attire to the wonderful little novelty favors she gave out at her reception. A reception, I might add that was just as beautifully decorated as the ceremony in the church. There were also red and white roses around the hall and the wedding reception table was a work of art. The wedding cake had to be one of the tallest cakes I’ve ever seen with a cake topper that had a big heart with a ribbon that had butterflies embroidered on it. It was definitely the center of everyones attention.

All of her tables looked elegant and very sophisitcated, with lovely crystal champagne flutes and fine china. The centerpieces were candles in large globe type holders with red roses all around the bottom. Above us there was a beautiful white satin canopy with strips draped all across the reception hall ceiling, and at each setting were place cards and decorative favor boxes with the most unique novelty wedding favors I’ve ever seen.

They were beautiful little ceramic pots and I know exactly where I’ll keep mine. It will look so nice on my kitchen knick knack shelf. I’d like to find something like this for my wedding renewal ceremony. We are having a reception afterwards, with all the special things we missed out on the first time around.

A friend of mine suggested I search the internet for wedding ideas and accessories, so that’s what I did, and she was right, there were tons of ideas to go through. So many, it was hard to make up my mind. They have everything from the decorations for the ceremony to glassware for my reception tables, and the best part is I can order it from home and not have to do anything but wait for the delivery. Sounds good to me.

I also found novelty party favors that are just as nice as the ones at the wedding I attended. In fact, I found the very ones she gave to us as thank you gifts, so now I know where she did her wedding shopping. Our renewal ceremony and reception is in one month from today, so I need to really get going on the rest of my accessories and supplies. I’m finally getting the wedding I’ve always wanted, and you know what? We are also going on that honeymoon we never got to take.
