This was my first marriage and I wanted to plan the perfect wedding shower. I needed help, so I asked my sister if she would like to help me plan it. She agreed and was excited as much as I was. Planning a wedding shower is time consuming, but I couldn’t wait to start planning it. I have planned showers before and I knew my shower would turn out awesome. I didn’t have a lot of time and I knew I better get started with the planning.
My sister and I searched for a hall to rent that was big enough to accommodate all of the guests. We found a hall close by my home. We went on the computer to look for decorations and gifts. There were a lot of themed wedding ideas that were gorgeous. I finally found all my decorations and purchased all the gifts I needed for the wedding shower. Our next step was to find shower favors. There was a lot to look at. This took some time to decide when looking at all the wonderful shower favors. When I came across a cotton handkerchief, I knew that is what I wanted my guests to get as a gift. I also thought that I could get one for me on my wedding day. I found a dress handkerchief that was so gorgeous. I knew right away that all my guests would love the handkerchiefs. I decided to go with a handkerchiefs as a wedding favor for all my guests.
Everything was turning out. We had the hall and ordered all the decorations, gifts and wedding favors. I needed to figure out what kind of food I was going to have at my shower. I thought about catering it in, but that was expensive. I went through my recipes and found some awesome dinners and side dishes that we could make. We placed the order for the cake at a bakery near us. All the planning was finished. I found these great invitations and sent them out. Now it was a waiting game, waiting for the day of the shower.
It was the day of the shower and I and my sister went to the hall early to set the tables and decorate. It took us about an hour to decorate the hall. As soon as we finished, we were amazed how great the room looked. I even took pictures to remember how it looked. The cake was on the table with the food and each table had a center piece. All the tables had a cotton handkerchief at each setting. The minute you saw the room, you would say how beautiful it looked.
My guests finally arrived and we all had such a great time. We all enjoyed each other’s company. We enjoyed the games and feasted on some good food. I heard throughout the shower that my guests liked receiving the handkerchief as a gift. I received so many gifts from all my family and friends. It made me sad when the shower was ending, because I really enjoyed myself and my guests did to.
When it was time for my guests to leave, they commented how much of a good time they had and were happy to get the handkerchief. I was so happy that I picked the handkerchief for my wedding favors. My shower was a success and will be in my memory always. I am glad that my sister was so helpful in planning the shower with me. It made me feel good that she was by my side through this. I picked her to be my maid of honor, because of that.
