I found some affordable cheap sweet sixteen favors… but it took some doing.

I needed some fresh ideas for my daughters sixteenth birthday party. My friend found quite a few party accessories and supplies online for her daughters celebration. So, I decided to check it out. I was really surprised at what super favors and table decorations they had. I found a lot of nice stuff I can use for her party. There were cookie cutters I used to make cookies in the shape of the number 16 for her guests.

I talked to my daughter and got her views on what type of party she wanted to have, and she decided on a roller skating and slumber birthday party. So I made the arrangements, and reserved tables with the roller rink in our neighborhood. I sent all of her girl friends special party invitations. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. Refreshments, pizza and hot dogs were also part of the package, and didn’t cost very much at all. The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.

I ordered more than the cookie cutters when I went shopping online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.

One of the favors was a cosmetic bag that had each girls initial on the front button. With the cosmetic bags I bought manicure sets and little purse mirrors to go with it. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen party favor with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. We picked up movies on the way home for the girls and I made sure they had plenty of snacks and drinks, so they were all set for the night. They turned on some of their music and danced around for a while, then they took out their manicure sets and started to work on nails, and give make overs to each other. They were having a lot of fun together.

Finally, things started to quiet down and they broke out the popcorn and movies. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. All that was left was my daughter and I, at least for a few minutes. But before she passed out, she thanked me for giving her such a great party.

They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do that for me. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the sweet sixteen party favors I bought for them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?
